Macau with the Fuji X-Pro2

Macau has the highest population density in the world, and a gambling industry that’s 7 times larger than Las Vegas. If you want to gamble Macau is the place to be. Me? I went for the egg tarts.

Here are some snapshots from my trip last summer.

It’s easy take a ferry from Hong Kong to Macau. Macau used to be a Portuguese colony but most people speak Cantonese.

Scooters are quite prevalent here, whereas in Hong Kong they’re basically non-existent.

Tourist shops abound near the ruins of St. Paul. There’s snack shops and jerky stands every block.

All of the casinos compete with each other to claim the title of “most-gaudy”

And when it rains, it rains

These poor fellows forgot their umbrellas.

Even if you’re not into gambling, Macau is neat place to visit. It feels a bit like a European city, even if the Chinese signs point out where you really are. I’d recommend going, but maybe avoid the hot summer months.

Shot with a  Fuji X-Pro2 and either the Fujicron 35mmf2 or the 16mmf1.4.

You can see my travel kit here. The 16mm is a gorgeous lens but it’s large enough to make walking with it all day annoying. If (when?) Fuji makes a WR 18mm I’ll replace the 16mm.

  1. Howdy! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Appreciate it
